Over twenty five years of research experience, primarily in Kentucky and surrounding states including Ohio and Michigan.  Gaining experience in German records-particularly West Prussia/Poland.

Education/Training:

DNA: Completed the following courses provided by Diahan Southard in 2022:  DNA Skills Workshop, 6 weeks; YDNA for Genealogy, 3 weeks;  Endogamy & DNA, 3 weeks.  Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh (GRIP):  Practical Genetic Genealogy, Coordinated by Blaine Bettinger

General Genealogy:  Completed the following courses at the Institute for Genealogical and Historical Research (IGHR):  Intermediate Genealogy & Historical Studies, Advanced Methodology, Intermediate German, Advanced German and Researching in the South-VA, MD, SC, NC, TN, Understanding Land Records.

DAR-Genealogy Education Programs successfully completed include:  GEP 1- Introduction to Genealogy Research for DAR Applications; GEP II – Applying Genealogy Research Techniques to DAR applications; GEP III – Advanced Techniques for Resolving Problems Lineage or Service on DAR Records.

Conferences include: National Genealogy Society (NGS), Federation of Genealogical Societies (FGS), Ohio Genealogical Society Seminars, Kentucky Genealogical Society Workshops and Seminars, RootsTech-2019 and 2020. Speaker at RootsTech 2023

Related Work Experience:  Martin F. Schmidt Research Library, Kentucky History Center, Frankfort, Ky.  Worked 6.5 years, part-time, as a Library Technician/Genealogist.  Assisted Patrons in person and via phone inquiries.  Responded to written Research Requests.  Conducted DNA programs and gave presentations.  Biggest project was in depth research for the Kentucky Ancestors Town Hall/Kentucky Ancestors tv show.
